Just In: FSU Lands Commitment of Another Talented Player From Good Team

Florida State’s quarterback commitment for the 2025 recruiting class, four-star Tramell Jones Jr., returned to Tallahassee for a visit during FSU’s game against North Carolina this weekend.

Despite witnessing FSU’s eighth loss of the season, a 35-11 defeat to UNC, Jones remained optimistic about his visit and emphasized his efforts to recruit other players.

“The visit isn’t over yet. I have some guys to meet with and others here on official visits,” Jones said. “I feel like it was an overall good trip. You could see the spark in the offense when we connected. We got to see Brock’s accuracy downfield a bit more, and you can tell how things can fall into place. We just need to capitalize on that and address the small issues. It’ll only get better from here.”

As a long-time commitment to FSU, Tramell Jones Jr. has recently focused on recruiting other players to join him in Tallahassee.

“I think you want to bring in guys who are eager to be part of something better, who want to come in and make an impact on the program, push their teammates, and help FSU get back to where it should be,” Jones explained. “That’s the kind of message I share with them: come in, get a chance to play early, and make a difference. If that’s what you want, then come here.”

Jones remains confident in the future of the FSU football program under coach Mike Norvell due to the coach’s vision. “When he first arrived, he saw what the program could be even when things weren’t going well. He has remained resilient and positive, the same person every time I talk to him, even during tough moments. His consistency is evident,” Jones said.

He believes that to turn things around, FSU needs to focus on recruiting playmakers. “We need to get the right guys and surround ourselves with playmakers. That’s what everyone wants to see. It’s important for the class to come together, especially after losing key players. But we’re still pursuing a lot of talent to be part of the class,” Jones noted.

This weekend, several playmakers were on campus for official visits. Jones is familiar with both Florida commit Tae’shaun Gelsey and UCF commit Jayvan Boggs, having played high school football in Jacksonville with Gelsey and 7-on-7 with Boggs. “The same message applies to them: they want to come in early and make an impact. I’ve known Tae for a long time, and I’m good friends with Jayvan from our time on SFE. We often talk while gaming. It was great to have Jayvan visit even though he’s committed to UCF. Tae’s family likes FSU a lot, so we’ll see how that develops,” Jones said.

After the game, he planned to switch to recruiting mode. “After this, I’ll head to the hotel to meet with the playmakers and see what they’re thinking. I’ll put my recruiting hat on a bit,” he said.

Regarding his own commitment status to FSU, Jones expressed no concerns.
