Retired Miami Heat legend Goran Dragic, originally from Slovenia, has a strong interest in European basketball talent.
The NBA’s international talent has surged in recent years, highlighted by superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece), Luka Doncic (Slovenia), and Nikola Jokic (Serbia). These players, boasting MVP awards, championships, and scoring titles, consistently earn widespread acclaim.
Yet, there are many other international players deserving of recognition. Dragic told Anthony Pasciolla of *Miami Heat on SI* that Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic stands out as the most underrated European talent.
“I’m not going to say Giannis, Luka, or Jokic because you’ve got two MVPs and two guys who’ve won NBA championships,” Dragic said. “I think Luka is well on his way to achieving that too.”
“But someone who really impresses me—and he’s a good friend of mine, and I love watching him—is Bogdan Bogdanovic,” Dragic shared. “I think his game is truly underrated. He can shoot, create, run pick-and-rolls, and play at a high level, and he’s proven that.”
Bogdanovic is currently out with a hamstring injury after playing in the Hawks’ season opener and is expected to be sidelined for about a month. Fans can eagerly anticipate his return, especially after a season in which he posted career-highs in points (16.9) and steals (1.2).
