Jordan Phillips, 32, recognizes that his NFL career is coming to a close. A second-round pick from Oklahoma, he has moved around the league in recent years. Phillips was drafted by the Miami Dolphins, where he played for four seasons.
After spending two years with the Buffalo Bills, he had a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals from 2020 to 2021, before returning to Buffalo for the 2022-2023 seasons.
After being released by the Cowboys this season, Jordan Phillips is giving his football career one final shot with the Buffalo Bills, marking his third stint with the team. “I just want to give them enough to stick,” Phillips said after rejoining the Bills earlier in the week.
“Finish my career here. That’s it. Whatever I’ve got to do to make that happen. Be here for the long haul—that’s my goal.” Phillips has developed a strong connection with the Bills, as both he and the organization seek to end their respective championship droughts.
Although the Bills already have solid starters at defensive tackle, Jordan Phillips brings a unique skill set that could be valuable during their playoff push. Even quarterback Josh Allen is happy to see Phillips back.
“Big bodies, number one,” Allen said. “The familiarity with what we’ve got going on here in Buffalo, and the type of men we have in this locker room. They’ve been playing really good football.”
Phillips’ return to Buffalo is good news for everyone there. It also is his last chance to show he can be a key piece to a championship roster. Only time will tell if that ends up happening, though.
