The true freshman has been sensational in 2024.
University of Louisville running back Isaac Brown has been selected as one of three finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, which is given each year to the most versatile player in major college football.
Brown joins Colorado’s Travis Hunter, a multi-talented player who excels on offense, defense, and special teams while averaging 126 snaps per game, and Penn State’s Tyler Warren, a record-breaking tight end who also contributes as a wildcat quarterback, fullback, halfback, and wingback.
The Paul Hornung Award, now in its 15th season and presented by Texas Roadhouse, is managed by the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC). The award honors the late Paul Hornung, a Louisville native and football icon, who was inducted into both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame and was once called “the most versatile player in the history of the game” by Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi.
The winner and their family will be celebrated at the Paul Hornung Award dinner in downtown Louisville in March 2025.
“Paul Hornung often said he would play any position his coach asked to help the team win,” said Greg Fante, president and CEO of the LSC. “Paul appreciated players who rose to the occasion in big games, and he would be proud of this year’s finalists.”
