However, the rare event quickly turned hazardous when a large piece of metal reportedly fell from the roof to the ground. Noah Bullard captured footage of the massive metal fragment, which Machota also shared.
Due to the safety concerns, the roof has since been closed. While the stadium’s retractable roof is typically kept shut, often due to weather conditions, the plan had been to leave it open for the highly anticipated Cowboys-Texans matchup. Unfortunately, that will no longer happen.
The silver lining is that no one was injured by the falling debris, but safety precautions have taken priority, leading to the roof being sealed once again.
It will be interesting to see how AT&T Stadium addresses the issue that caused the large piece of metal to fall from the roof. Repairs or modifications may be necessary to ensure such an incident doesn’t occur again.
