Baltimore Orioles set to confirm another $180 Million Pitching Star.

Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes is now an unrestricted free agent after just one season with the team, following a high-profile trade last offseason. Spotrac forecasts that Burnes could sign a six-year, $180 million deal, with some insiders speculating his contract could exceed $200 million.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reports that the Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers are currently the front-runners in the pursuit of Burnes, with both teams “standing above the others” in the sweepstakes. Morosi added that, although there is significant interest around the league, nothing is close to being finalized.

The Dodgers have been viewed as a potential landing spot for Burnes ever since he posted a cryptic tweet following Los Angeles’ World Series victory.

For the Orioles, retaining Burnes is crucial for two main reasons: they cannot afford to lose their ace, especially after trading valuable prospects to acquire him, and the risk of letting him go to the Dodgers could further strengthen Los Angeles’ chances of winning another championship in 2025.
