Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady was full of praise for receiver Curtis Samuel after his performance in the win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Curtis Samuel has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form since his move from the Washington Commanders, but it seems he’s beginning to find his stride in the AFC East.
With Samuel now part of Joe Brady’s offense, Josh Allen has a range of weapons to utilize, making it clear that the team’s success isn’t reliant on just one player. The “everybody eats” philosophy has been key to the Bills’ 9-2 record.
In the 31-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, Samuel finally had his breakthrough, recording a season-high five receptions for 58 yards and scoring his first touchdown as a Bill. Brady was quick to commend his receiver’s performance.
“Up until now, things haven’t gone exactly as Curtis expected, given the injuries he’s been dealing with,” Brady noted. “But it was great to see him healthy over the last two weeks, moving well and showing what he can do. You can see his confidence growing, his speed, and his ability after the catch. He made several key plays. As we continue to develop our offense, we’ll need him to keep stepping up.”
Samuel’s role has been limited since joining the Bills, with him recording two or fewer catches in six games this season. However, against the Chiefs, he made a significant impact.
While it’s unrealistic to expect him to repeat this level of performance every week, his showing builds trust with Allen, proving that Samuel can be relied upon when the team needs him most.
It may have been the first game where Samuel truly dominated, but now, Allen and Brady will surely have that in mind going forward. After 10 games, Samuel is finally finding his rhythm in Buffalo.
