Brittany Williams Spoke About Her ‘Difficult’ Breakup With Josh Allen For the First Time
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had an eventful bye week, as he and his girlfriend of over a year, actress Hailee Steinfeld, announced their engagement.
The couple shared the exciting news on Instagram on November 29, with the caption “♾️ 11•22•24 ♾️,” revealing that Allen proposed just five days after the Bills’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.
Allen and Steinfeld were first seen together in May 2023, shortly after Allen’s breakup with his long-time girlfriend, Brittany Williams, in April. As news of Allen’s engagement spread, Williams shared a message with her 142,000 Instagram followers.

Since Josh Allen began dating Hailee Steinfeld, he and his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Williams, have crossed paths on several occasions. Williams, who has known Allen since childhood, moved to Buffalo with him after he was drafted by the Bills as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. During her six years in Buffalo, she developed close relationships with other players’ wives and girlfriends.
Brittany Williams, the social media influencer, attended the wedding of Bills backup quarterback Kyle Allen and Summer Juraszek in Mexico on June 21, where both she and Josh Allen were present. Additionally, Williams and Josh Allen were both at Christian Kirk’s wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona, in April 2024.
In late February, Brittany Williams spoke about her breakup with Josh Allen for the first time during an appearance on the Martinis & Bikinis podcast. The Fresno, California native shared her experience of moving to New York City and navigating her dating life after living with the Madden ’24 cover star. “I was with my ex-boyfriend for 10 years,” Williams explained. “I’d say coming into the dating world was very, very difficult for me at first because I never thought I’d be here again. But here I am, and I’m very happy now. The dating scene in New York is absolutely crazy, but it’s so much fun and incredibly entertaining.”
While she greatly enjoyed her “Sex and the City” phase, “I think after a while you’re like dating isn’t always fun and games. It’s hard but it’s beautiful because it makes you realize everything you want and makes you not settle for anything more than that.”
