SHANAHAN: “No, Brock’s shoulder was totally fine.”

Q: You’ve lost two games in a row by at least 25 points. How disappointed are you?

SHANAHAN: “Really disappointed. We have a lot more pride than this. We know we’re missing some players, but we’re capable of playing much better. Turning the ball over three times in each of the last two games without forcing any turnovers ourselves, combined with not stopping the run, usually leads to outcomes like these.”

Q: You’ve lost two consecutive games by at least 25 points. How disappointed are you?

SHANAHAN: “Very disappointed. We take a lot more pride in our performance than this. While we’re aware we have some key players out, we know we can play much better. Turning the ball over three times in each of the past two games without forcing any turnovers, combined with our inability to stop the run, usually makes the outcome pretty predictable.”

Q: How much did the snow augment Josh Allen’s skill set?

SHANAHAN: “It’s hard to say if it helps or hurts. He has those skills regardless of the weather. He’s as good as it gets.”

Q: How do you assess Brock’s performance?

Q: How do you assess Brock’s performance?

SHANAHAN: “We didn’t throw it much. I thought he battled, but he didn’t get many opportunities in the passing game. It was unfortunate that the ball slipped on that last third down. He was making the right read, but the ball just slipped out of his hand.”

Q: Why did you call a handoff to Kyle Juszczyk on the goal line? He hasn’t had many touches this season.

SHANAHAN: “We do a lot of different things on the goal line. I thought it was a well-schemed run for the fronts they use down there. I felt really good about it. Kyle hasn’t fumbled in a long time. I don’t know if he would have scored, but he would’ve gotten to the one. We definitely liked the play—they just made a good strip and capitalized.”

Q: Did you have a kicker issue?

SHANAHAN: “I’m not thinking about that right now. I know Jake Moody missed two in that game. The conditions weren’t ideal. The 55-yarder before halftime would have been an amazing kick, but I thought the one before that was the one he should have made.”

Q: What gives you confidence your team can go on a run and make the playoffs?

SHANAHAN: “I’m just focused on winning next week. I’m not talking about going on a run. Right now, it’s all about next week. You just go back to work.”

Q: Do you think this team has the same fight in it as past teams?

SHANAHAN: “We’re not as good a team as those past teams. That’s how I see it. We’re not the same team at all. Every year’s team is different. I’m not going to say this team is the same as last year’s or that we’re not fighting as hard. We have a lot of new guys out there. We’ve been trying to find our way since the start, and we haven’t quite found it yet. There’s still a lot of season left, and we expect to play better. But I’m not going to say our team doesn’t have fight.”

Q: What was your message to the team after the game?

SHANAHAN: “There’s no secret message. We’ll watch the film, get on the plane, and come back Wednesday ready to go.”
