South Carolina Lands Home another veteran to Boost Their Squad depth

South Carolina Adds Veteran Cornerback Myles Norwood to 2025 Class

South Carolina bolstered its secondary today with the addition of veteran cornerback Myles Norwood, who transferred from Ball State. The 6-3, 190-pound St. Louis native officially committed to the Gamecocks after visiting USC late last week, following official visits to Louisville and Kentucky.

Norwood began his college career at Iowa State, where he redshirted in 2022 and appeared in just one game. He was part of the team in 2023 but did not see any game action. Seeking a fresh start, he first transferred to New Mexico State in February before ultimately landing at Ball State, closer to his hometown.

In his first season at Ball State, Norwood made an immediate impact, playing in all 12 games. He registered 38 tackles, broke up eight passes, and also contributed with two tackles for loss.

For now, Norwood is the only cornerback in South Carolina’s 2025 class and is expected to have two years of eligibility with the Gamecocks. His experience and size should provide an immediate boost to the Gamecocks’ secondary.
