Former Auburn quarterback Walker White announced on Instagram Saturday that he has committed to Baylor. White, ranked as the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the 2023 ESPN 300 behind Florida’s DJ Lagway and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, is also the No. 161 prospect overall.
Baylor struggled offensively last season, ranking 101st in scoring with an average of 23.1 points per game. In response, head coach Dave Aranda hired offensive coordinator Jake Spavital to help make the offense more explosive.
This season, the Bears have turned things around, winning six straight games and averaging 34.7 points per game. Junior quarterback Sawyer Robertson has thrown for 2,626 yards, 26 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get to work in Coach Spavital’s offense,” White told ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “I’m also excited that there’s a clear plan for quarterback development.”
After finishing 3-9 last year, Baylor has rebounded to a solid 8-4 record and will face LSU in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl on December 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
