Bills Make Final Josh Allen Decision Ahead of Patriots Game

The Buffalo Bills and quarterback Josh Allen have enjoyed a highly successful season. Heading into Week 18, the team boasts a 13-3 record, has secured the AFC East title, and locked in the No. 2 seed for the playoffs.

With their playoff position already secured, rumors suggest that Josh Allen and several other starters might sit out to avoid potential injuries.

It’s a common strategy employed by many teams and wouldn’t surprise anyone, but head coach Sean McDermott recently announced that Josh Allen will start the game and play for only a “very, very short-lived amount of time.”

This decision will also preserve Josh Allen’s streak of consecutive starts, which currently stands at 114 games.

Currently, Brett Favre holds the record with 297 consecutive starts, meaning Allen still has a long way to go if he hopes to challenge that milestone.

Given his limited time on the field, Allen likely won’t have much opportunity to further bolster his already impressive MVP campaign.

Through 16 games, Allen has completed 307 of 483 passes for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns, six interceptions, and boasts a 101.4 passer rating. He’s also been a force on the ground, adding 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

ESPN BET currently lists Allen as the frontrunner for MVP with odds of -300, a significant lead over the next contender, the Ravens’ quarterback, at +250.
