Breaking: Saints Top Player Out For The Season Due To Devastating Injury.

New Orleans Saints linebacker Jaylan Ford’s rookie season came to an end after he sustained a significant injury late in Sunday’s loss. The timeline for his recovery will depend on the extent of the damage revealed by medical imaging.

Ford, who was drafted by the Saints in the fifth round from Texas this year, broke his leg while covering a punt in the fourth quarter of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Interim head coach Darren Rizzi confirmed that Ford will have season-ending surgery later this week.

“He had to get some scans today to check for any potential ligament damage,” Rizzi said. “I haven’t received any updates yet on the specifics, so his recovery timeline will depend on what we find with the ligaments. However, there is a fracture that will need to be repaired.”

Ford played in eight games this season, all in a special teams capacity. He will be the 11th player on the Saints’ active roster to be placed on injured reserve for the season.
