Josh Allen will play for the Bills in Week 18, but its for an unusual reason
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are comfortably positioned at 13-3, securing the second seed in the AFC. Despite having no playoff implications for their upcoming game, Allen will still start against the New England Patriots on Sunday, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that Allen will start but will only play a limited amount of time to maintain his streak of consecutive starts, as reported by Meirov.
Allen has made 114 consecutive starts, transforming from an inconsistent rookie to one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks. However, at 28, he still has a long way to go before matching Brett Favre’s record of 297 consecutive starts.
Although Allen will play briefly, other key starters are expected to rest in preparation for the AFC Wild Card game, as noted by AJ Feldman of News 8 Rochester.
