South Carolina Lands Home Another committed 4-Star to strengthening elite wide receiver class

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Murph was originally part of the 2026 recruiting class but reclassified to 2025. He took official visits to both South Carolina and Clemson before making his decision.

Donovan Murph, a four-star wide receiver from Irmo, South Carolina, has become part of one of the most impressive wide receiver classes in South Carolina football history with his commitment to the Gamecocks. He made his announcement during the Under Armour All-America game on Thursday, opting for South Carolina over finalists Clemson, Colorado, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Murph was initially part of the 2026 recruiting class but decided to reclassify to 2025. Before finalizing his choice, he took official visits to both South Carolina and Clemson.

Murph explained his decision by saying that South Carolina felt like home. “Everybody shows me love. The whole staff shows me love. It’s not just one coach,” he shared in an interview with On3’s Chad Simmons.
He pointed out his strong connections not only with the wide receivers coach but also with other important figures like quarterbacks coach Mike Shula, head coach Shane Beamer, coach Gray, and coach Lucas. Murph stressed that he feels a sense of family with the Gamecocks’ coaching staff and trusts that they will always be honest with him.

Although Alabama was not among his listed finalists, the school remained involved in his recruitment process. Murph’s commitment further strengthens South Carolina’s 2025 class, adding a promising talent to a highly regarded group of wide receivers.
