On Monday night, South Carolina welcomed a familiar name from the transfer portal.
Former NC State defensive back Brandon Cisse is set to continue his football journey with the Gamecocks. South Carolina fans might recall Cisse from his days at Lakewood High School in Sumter, where he was a standout prospect in the class of 2023.
South Carolina has officially announced Cisse’s commitment, confirming that he has signed with the program.
Cisse is a valuable addition to the Gamecocks, having played a key role for the Wolfpack in 2024. He recorded 28 tackles, 5 pass deflections, and 2 tackles for loss. He is expected to make an immediate impact in South Carolina’s secondary next season.
South Carolina has now brought in 13 transfers during this cycle, with the group ranked No. 15 nationally by 247Sports. Cisse is the second defensive back to join the Gamecocks’ transfer class, as they aim to strengthen their pass defense for the 2025 season. The team ranked third in the SEC in pass defense efficiency last year.
Cisse will have two years of eligibility remaining.
