Braves Considered Bold Moves for $100 Million Dodgers World Series Star

Jack Flaherty played a crucial role in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2024 World Series victory, stepping up to stabilize the pitching rotation amid a series of injuries. However, as Flaherty becomes a free agent, the Dodgers chose to sign Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki instead of re-signing him.

Given this, it appears likely that the 29-year-old will need to seek his reported $100 million contract elsewhere. Recently, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller listed the Atlanta Braves as one of the top potential destinations for Flaherty. Miller pointed out that nearly three months have passed since Atlanta traded Jorge Soler’s contract and declined Travis d’Arnaud’s 2025 option, leaving the Braves relatively quiet during that time.

With the Braves’ payroll already nearing $200 million, they don’t have much flexibility, but there has still been anticipation that they’ll make at least one significant move. Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller noted that re-signing Max Fried or signing Willy Adames always seemed unlikely, but signing Jack Flaherty to a short-term deal could be their big play.

The Braves face the challenge of replacing the production of both Charlie Morton and Max Fried. While this is no easy task, adding Flaherty would help bridge the gap. Though Flaherty may not match Fried’s level, he represents an upgrade over Morton. If Atlanta can secure him for a four-year, $100 million contract, it would be a move that could propel the team forward.
