Syracuse football: Four star DE Jarius Rodgers commits to Orange

The Syracuse Orange have strengthened their 2026 recruiting class by adding one of the highest-ranked Edge prospects.

Jarius Rodgers, a widely regarded four-star player and composite Top-30 defensive end in his class, has pledged to SU. He recently had a visit from Defensive Ends Coach Nick Williams and also participated in the Future Franchise camp over the weekend.

Rodgers shared with 247Sports’ Mike McAllister, “I got to see the Dome and the facilities, then meet with most of the coaches and pick up some insights during the meetings. They met all the criteria I was looking for.”

At 6’5″ and 215 lbs, the Edge rusher also attracted interest from BC, FSU, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Notre Dame, SMU, UCF, Vanderbilt, and other programs.

Beyond football, Rodgers is a track & field athlete and has previously qualified for district competitions in the 110-meter hurdles.

He is now the highest-ranked of Syracuse’s nine verbal commitments for the 2026 class. Rodgers is the second commit this week, following the commitment of OL Steven Pickard on Saturday. With this addition, the class is now ranked No. 11 nationally in the composite rankings.
