Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen paid a visit to a QB who de-committed from the Hokies in November.
In June, Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry secured his first commitment for the Class of 2026 when quarterback Peyton Falzone from Nazareth, Pa., pledged to the Hokies. Falzone, a four-star recruit, is considered one of the top quarterbacks in his class.
However, five months after his commitment, Falzone decided to de-commit and reopen his recruitment, which was a significant setback for Pry. Despite this, it seems there is still ongoing communication between Falzone and the Virginia Tech coaching staff, indicating that the Hokies are still actively pursuing him.
On his social media, Peyton Falzone shared that Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen visited him on Tuesday, signaling a potential move toward securing another commitment from the highly sought-after quarterback. Since de-committing from the Hokies, Falzone has received offers from several major programs, as expected. He has also visited schools like Ohio State and Penn State.

Earlier this month, Virginia Tech secured a commitment from wide receiver Cameron Sparks, a player from Chattanooga, Tenn., marking the only commitment for the class so far. The recruiting period for the class is expected to peak this spring and summer.
In the meantime, Virginia Tech will welcome freshmen quarterbacks A.J. Brand from South Carolina and Kelden Ryan from Texas as part of the Class of 2025. They’ll join returning players Kyron Drones, Pop Watson, and Davi Belfort, helping to create a deep quarterback room.
Peyton Falzone, with his dual-threat abilities as a quarterback who can both throw and make plays with his legs, would be an ideal fit for Virginia Tech’s offense. The question remains: will he re-commit to the Hokies? While it’s uncertain, especially with major programs pursuing him since he reopened his recruitment, Pry and Bowen are clearly still optimistic about their chances and continue to make a push for him. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out, but one thing is certain—Virginia Tech is giving it their best effort.
