Orioles add Ramon Laureano on one-year, $4 million deal with team option for 2026
Ramon Laureano has agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles, adding to the team’s already crowded outfield. The deal includes a team option for 2026. The 30-year-old outfielder posted a .259 average with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs last season, playing for both Atlanta and Cleveland.
While the Orioles lost right fielder Anthony Santander to free agency, they’ve strengthened their outfield by bringing in Tyler O’Neill, Dylan Carlson, and now Laureano. This adds to the existing outfielders Cedric Mullins, Colton Cowser, and Heston Kjerstad.
The outfield now offers potential platoon matchups, with O’Neill, Carlson, and Laureano having posted much higher OPS numbers against left-handed pitchers, while Mullins and Cowser are more effective against right-handed pitchers.
Additionally, the Orioles may consider trading one of their surplus outfielders to bolster their starting pitching, with Mullins set to become a free agent after this season.
