The Buffalo Bills’ offense was arguably the best in the NFL this season. Even though they played one fewer game than both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, the Bills still finished the regular season and playoffs leading the league in points.
James Cook was a major contributor to the Bills’ offensive success. He tied for the NFL lead in rushing touchdowns with 16 and surpassed 1,000 rushing yards, earning his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection. Cook appears to recognize his worth, as he put a specific salary figure out there.
During an Instagram Live session, he pinned a comment stating “$15 mil year,” clearly indicating he’s aiming for a $15 million annual salary on his next contract.
James Cook has not only made his salary demands clear, but he also appears to be sending a strong message to the Bills. He changed his profile picture from a shot of him in a Bills uniform to a more neutral image of him in a hooded sweatshirt, and he has removed all Bills-related content from his social media.
It’s evident that Cook either wants to be paid or traded to a team that will meet his demands. The Bills can free up cap space relatively easily this offseason, and Cook is a standout player. While his approach may not sit well with everyone, keeping him content should be a priority for Buffalo as they navigate the offseason.
