At the 14th annual NFL Honors last week in New Orleans, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took home the MVP award for the season. During his speech, Allen expressed his gratitude to all the important people in his life and career.
One person he particularly highlighted was Roderick Morrow, affectionately known as “Slick Rick” within the Bills organization. Morrow has worked in the team’s mail room for 15 years. Throughout his time with the Bills, Morrow used to commute by bus—but that has since changed.
“‘Slick Rick’ from the mailroom got his car, courtesy of West Herr New York,” a post on X shared. For years, the longtime Bills employee had been commuting by bus from Buffalo to Orchard Park for work.
However, now, Fridays have taken on a whole new meaning for Morrow, as he received the keys to a brand-new Chevy Traverse. A visibly emotional Morrow was deeply moved by the gesture, saying, “I can’t believe it, I can’t believe this.”

“I hate to say, you know I’m the type of person to say like ‘why me’ you know,” Morrow continued. “But that’s how I am. It’s unbelievable, this is unbelievable… I thank everybody. I’m just an average guy. I guess I was blessed to get the job with the Bills and I’ll just try not to miss any days of work and just be there and do what I’m supposed to do.
” Morrow’s humble words show his gratitude, emphasizing that he’s just an average guy, and his focus remains on doing his job to the best of his ability.
It’s heartwarming to see viral moments like this, where a gesture from Josh Allen turns into a life-changing experience for “Slick Rick,” making his daily life more convenient and comfortable.
