The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly reached a contract agreement with veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario, according to Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston. The deal is said to be a minor league contract.
At 33 years old, Rosario joins a team already stacked with outfield talent, making the competition for roster spots fierce. The Dodgers’ outfield depth is one of the team’s key position battles, but Rosario still has a chance to make the major league roster.
Rosario has been in the MLB since 2015, making his debut with the Minnesota Twins and becoming a reliable contributor. In 2021, he moved to the Cleveland Guardians before eventually playing for the Atlanta Braves in both 2022 and 2023. In 2024, he split time between the Braves and Nationals, and now he’s set to join the reigning World Series champions, the Dodgers.

While Los Angeles could use another left-handed hitter, the team already has a crowded outfield with candidates like Teoscar Hernandez, Tommy Edman, Michael Conforto, Enrique Hernandez, James Outman, Chris Taylor, and Andy Pages. The Dodgers value having depth on their roster, and their outfield situation will be one to monitor closely during spring training.
Manager Dave Roberts, a potential candidate for a contract extension, faces tough decisions with so many options available. The depth could make his job challenging, but it also gives him flexibility.
Rosario, who had a down year in 2024, will look to prove himself during spring training. His proven track record and postseason experience are likely factors that drew the Dodgers’ attention. If he performs well in spring training, he could add a new dynamic to the Dodgers’ outfield.
