Washington Wizards forward Justin Champagnie has secured a four-year, $10 million contract amid the most successful season of his young career, his agent told ESPN on Sunday.
At 23 years old and in his second season with Washington, Champagnie is posting career-best numbers, averaging 7.5 points, a 50.4% field goal percentage, 37.6% from three-point range, 4.6 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game while serving as a part-time starter.
In 15 starts across 40 games this season, Justin Champagnie—who will earn $1.8 million for the remainder of the season—is averaging 11.6 points and 7.5 rebounds. Originally entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021, he signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards in February 2024.
Over parts of four seasons with the Toronto Raptors (2021-22), Boston Celtics (2022-23), and Wizards, Champagnie has played in 96 games (16 starts), averaging 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
