Buffalo Bills: Make $3 Million Decision on Talented Special Teamer

The Buffalo Bills are currently $10.27 million over the salary cap and have until 3:00 PM CT on March 12 to become cap-compliant. To create enough space for re-signing players and signing free agents, they will restructure contracts, renegotiate deals, and release players. As a result, the Bills will be very selective when offering contract extensions.

One player set to become a free agent is their special teamer and backup offensive player, Quintin Morris.

Morris, who is a restricted free agent (RFA), completed the final year of his exclusive rights tender. In 2024, he had a solid special teams performance, posting a career-high four tackles, though his involvement in the offense was limited with just 214 snaps. He caught five passes on eight targets for 36 yards and one touchdown over 16 games and three starts.

Since Morris was undrafted, his RFA tender, worth $3.26 million, is non-guaranteed for 2025 and offers only the right of first refusal. The Bills must decide whether to exercise or decline the tender by March.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Bills have decided not to tender Morris. Consequently, he will become an unrestricted free agent. However, the Bills are still interested in bringing him back but are looking to sign him to a more affordable contract.
