Huge Boost: South Carolina secures Another commitment Straight to Power-House Welcome Home.!!

Agot Makeer, the No. 4 ranked player in the Class of 2025, has pledged to South Carolina, selecting the Gamecocks over UConn and Michigan State.

Dawn Staley and her staff have secured another top-tier recruit for the 2025 class. Agot Makeer, the No. 4 overall player and the top-ranked combo guard, has committed to South Carolina, choosing the Gamecocks over UConn and Michigan State. Her commitment further strengthens Coach Staley’s vision for the continued success of the women’s program.

Makeer, originally from Toronto, Canada, is South Carolina’s second top-25 ranked recruit, joining No. 22 Ayla McDowell from Texas. She is currently attending Monteverde Academy in Florida.

Makeer played a key role in helping the Canadian U17 women’s basketball team secure a silver medal at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup, averaging 17.7 points and seven rebounds per game.

At 6-foot-2, Makeer is a versatile player, capable of playing both guard and small forward, which will provide the Gamecocks with added flexibility for the upcoming season.

The successful recruitment of Agot Makeer for the Gamecocks’ 2025 class reinforces South Carolina’s status as one of the nation’s most elite women’s basketball teams.
