ATLANTA – The Atlanta Hawks have officially signed forward Jacob Toppin to a two-way contract, the team announced today. Details of the agreement were not disclosed in accordance with team policy.

Toppin has played in 25 NBA games with the New York Knicks over two seasons. In 57 career NBA G League games (53 starts), the Kentucky product has averaged 19.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 35.6 minutes per game, shooting .470 from the field and .796 from the free-throw line.

The 6-8 forward played in 15 games with the Westchester Knicks in the NBA G League this season, averaging 24.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 37.1 minutes per game, with shooting splits of .506 from the field, .368 from three-point range, and .833 from the free-throw line.

In 11 regular season games this season, Toppin scored 20 or more points nine times, including four games with 30 or more points. His best performance came on January 14, when he scored a season-high 38 points on 11-of-21 shooting, including a 6-of-7 mark from the free-throw line, along with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 block in a win over the Wisconsin Herd.

A Brooklyn native, Toppin played 116 games (40 starts) in college, splitting time between Rhode Island (2019-20) and Kentucky (2020-23), averaging 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 21.7 minutes per game, with a shooting percentage of .471 from the field and .695 from the free-throw line.
