More Goodnews.!! Lions Boost Their Corps Of linebackers In A Blockbuster Bridged Deal With former Colts Top Talent

Former Colts linebacker Grant Stuard, known for his strong special teams play, is joining the Detroit Lions.

Stuard made the announcement on Instagram, confirming his move to Detroit.

The 26-year-old was drafted by the Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft and spent most of his rookie season on special teams. He was traded to the Colts in 2022, where he continued his special teams role and was named special teams captain. However, Stuard also showed his value on defense, starting five games at linebacker for the Colts last season.

After dealing with a defense plagued by injuries in 2024, the Lions are adding depth to their defensive unit and strengthening their special teams with Stuard, who should be a key contributor at a relatively low cost.
