The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed wide receiver Ben Skowronek, as reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Skowronek played a crucial role as a special teams contributor and a versatile offensive player for the Steelers. He was added to the practice squad after being let go by the Houston Texans.
Although Skowronek dealt with shoulder and hip injuries, he became an important part of the special teams, particularly as a gunner. He also took on various offensive roles, including playing as a wing, wide receiver, fullback, and sometimes as an H-back, which helped shape his overall role on the team.
Skowronek was drafted by the Rams from Notre Dame, where he played alongside former Steelers wide receiver Miles Boykin. He won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021 and has accumulated just over 500 receiving yards in his NFL career.
He joins Scotty Miller as the two wide receivers re-signed by the Steelers on Thursday. Both players will serve as depth options and will compete for spots on the roster.
