Huge Boost: Hard-Nosed Top Talent Sends Mind Blowing Message After Signing Broncos Contract

The Denver Broncos are swiftly addressing their offseason needs, making key moves to reshape their roster. While time will tell if these decisions pay off, there’s already plenty of excitement among Broncos Country—and even the players themselves, including Evan Engram.

Engram signed a two-year, $23 million deal with Denver, where he projects as a perfect fit for the coveted “joker” role in head coach Sean Payton’s offense. He certainly seems to embrace the fit, sharing a GIF of the late Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight in response to the signing.

“Blessed to be a Bronco!” Engram said in another post. “Now let’s make a run.”

Head coach Sean Payton has been clear about the importance of filling the “joker” role in his offense, a position that has been a key feature in his schemes for years. With Engram now in the mix, the Broncos believe they’ve found the right playmaker to thrive in that role.

“I would say we need a ‘joker,’” Payton told Kay Adams on Up & Adams on February 5. “They have to be elite receivers that play tight end or running back, and then you get the matchups. And we had quite a few of them here, because you’re getting 2-high defense, and you have to work the inside.”

With Engram now on board, Payton appears to have found his ideal playmaker for that role, giving the Broncos a dynamic weapon to exploit mismatches in the passing game.
