Breaking: Chiefs Land Ex-Raiders Hard-nosed Player Target Deal Straight To Power-house

On March 14, the Kansas City Chiefs made moves on both sides of the ball, starting with reunions on offense involving backup quarterback Bailey Zappe and veteran running back Kareem Hunt. Later in the day, the team made changes on defense, trading one player and adding another.

First, NFL insider Jordan Schultz from FOX Sports reported that the Chiefs are bringing in former Los Angeles Chargers first-round defensive tackle Jerry Tillery on a one-year contract. Schultz described Tillery as a valuable depth addition to Kansas City’s defensive line, noting his career stats of 12.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles over 50 starts.

Tillery, who spent most of his career with the Chargers (three and a half seasons) and one and a half years with the Las Vegas Raiders, will now face his old teams as a member of the Chiefs. He most recently played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2024.

On the other hand, veteran cornerback Keith Taylor, who wasn’t tendered by the Chiefs on March 12, has signed with the Atlanta Falcons, according to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.
