Red Wings sign forward Eduards Tralmaks to one-year, two-way contract for 2025-26 season

The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Eduards Tralmaks to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2025-26 season.

Tralmaks, 28, played for Rytíři Kladno in the Czech Extraliga during the 2024-25 season, leading the team with 23 goals, 28 assists, and 51 points in 48 games. He also ranked among the team leaders in several categories, including a plus-four rating (T1st), 66 penalty minutes (1st), two power-play goals (T7th), 13 power-play points (2nd), two shorthanded goals (1st), and two game-winning goals (T1st). His 51 points were the most in the Czech Extraliga.

In the previous season (2023-24), Tralmaks posted 32 points (21-11-32) and 34 penalty minutes in 52 regular-season games, as well as five points (3-2-5) in four playoff games. Over parts of three seasons with the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League (AHL) from 2020-23, Tralmaks recorded 41 points (22-19-41) and a plus-23 rating in 87 games.

Before turning professional, Tralmaks spent four years at the University of Maine (2017-21), totaling 82 points (39-43-82) in 119 games. He also played for the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League (USHL) during the 2016-17 season, registering 27 points (11-16-27) in 46 games and earning MVP honors in the Clark Cup Playoffs after leading the team to its first championship with 12 points (10-2-12) in 14 playoff games.

A native of Riga, Latvia, Tralmaks helped his country secure a spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics, scoring one goal in three games during the final qualifying round. He also represented Latvia at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, recording two points (1-1-2) in seven games, and previously played in the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship and the 2015 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.
