Josh Allen Urged Bills To Sign Top Cornerback From Top Dision Rival

The Buffalo Bills are unlikely to re-sign cornerback Rasul Douglas in free agency. While the veteran remains unsigned, it appears his return doesn’t align with the team’s current roster plans.

With Douglas leaving, the Bills now have an evident need for a starting cornerback to pair with their standout player, Christian Benford.

Although the 2025 Draft offers numerous options, the Bills are under pressure to sign a veteran free agent who remains unexpectedly available this late in the offseason.

In a recent column discussing the best fits across the league, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell proposed that former Los Angeles cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. would be an excellent addition to the Bills this offseason.

“At just 25 years old, Samuel is entering the prime of his career, setting him apart from many others in this discussion,” Bill Barnwell wrote. “While he didn’t stand out during his time with the Chargers, he had limited opportunities to play under new defensive coordinator Jesse Minter before his injury. Having spent his entire career under Brandon Staley, it’s possible Samuel could thrive in a different defensive scheme.”
