The Washington Commanders have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Trent Scott, the team announced on Friday. This marks Scott’s third season with the Commanders, who brought him on board in 2023.
Scott is an experienced NFL player who entered the league in 2018 as an undrafted free agent from Grambling State. He spent his first two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before joining the Carolina Panthers after they let him go.
He played two years with the Panthers before the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him. Scott impressed during training camp, gradually moving up the depth chart, and was added to the active roster on September 1, where he remained for the entire season.

After one season in Pittsburgh, Scott moved to the Commanders, where he even scored a touchdown in 2024 as a tackle eligible, catching a one-yard touchdown pass against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The new contract is for one year and provides the Commanders with experienced depth on their offensive line. Scott has started 23 games in his career and played in 88 games overall.
