Just In: Syracuse Lands Home Two Persistent Hard-nosed Players Both From Good Teams

The Syracuse Orange kicked off their spring practice by securing two new commitments for the 2026 class.

E’Shawn Sutton from Winter Park, Florida, and Darnell Stokes from Dagsboro, Delaware, both pledged to Syracuse, increasing the 2026 class to 11 commitments. Currently, 247 ranks this class 15th in the nation, while On3 has them 36th.

Sutton, an unranked athlete, stands at 6’1″ and weighs 190 pounds. He had offers from schools like Pitt and Georgia Tech, among others. Sutton shared with On3 that he felt a strong sense of belonging with the Orange.

The unranked Stokes is a 6’2″ wide receiver/defensive back who was named Delaware’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2024. He scored 22 touchdowns—12 receiving and 10 rushing—on only 74 offensive touches. Stokes also received offers from Rutgers, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
