Former Denver Broncos starting tight end Eric Saubert is on the move once again. After appearing in 17 games, including three starts, for the San Francisco 49ers last season, he will remain in the NFC West.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seattle Seahawks have signed Saubert, adding him to a tight end group that includes Noah Fant and AJ Barner.

Seahawks To Sign TE Eric Saubert

In 2024, Eric Saubert played 17 games for the San Francisco 49ers, starting in three, and recorded 11 receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown.

Over his seven-year NFL career, he has amassed 47 receptions for 389 yards, three touchdowns, and one fumble.

Originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round (No. 174 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, Saubert spent two seasons in Atlanta before being traded to the New England Patriots during the 2020 NFL Draft. However, he was released before ever playing a game for New England.

Throughout his career, he has also had stints with the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans.

A Drake University alum, Eric Saubert has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL career but is best known for his time with the Denver Broncos. During his two seasons in Denver, he started 10 games and recorded 23 receptions for 195 yards, two touchdowns, and eight first-down conversions.

As he approaches his age-31 season, Saubert is expected to serve as a veteran depth piece for the Seattle Seahawks. While he may not be a regular on highlight reels, he has proven to be a dependable pass-catcher when needed.
