After recent visits with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has decided on his next destination.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Wilson has agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed. The 10-time Pro Bowler had been in talks with the Giants, Browns, and Steelers but ultimately chose New York.
Russell Wilson started 11 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, throwing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Over his decorated career, he has amassed 46,135 passing yards, 350 touchdowns, and 111 interceptions.

Wilson began his college career at NC State before transferring to Wisconsin for his senior season. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round (No. 75 overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. During his 10 seasons in Seattle, he earned nine Pro Bowl selections, won Super Bowl XLVIII, and was honored as the 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year.
In 2022, Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos in a blockbuster deal that included quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a 2022 fifth-rounder. While he showed improvement in his second year under head coach Sean Payton, his time in Denver is widely regarded as a disappointment, as he went from an elite quarterback to just another name in the league.
Now with the New York Giants (playing in East Rutherford, New Jersey), Wilson is expected to compete with newly signed Jameis Winston for the starting job. However, with more guaranteed money in his contract, he appears to have the edge in the competition.
