Pittsburgh Men of Steel Re-signs Former Alabama Top Star That Is Set To Return Home To Steelers

Former Hoover High School star Jeremiah Moon is set to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2025 season.

The NFL team announced on Friday that the outside linebacker had signed a one-year deal after appearing in 13 games, including one start, for Pittsburgh in 2024.

Moon began the offseason as an exclusive-rights free agent, meaning he had two or fewer accrued NFL seasons with an expiring contract. Since the Steelers did not extend a tender before the start of the league’s 2025 business year on March 12, he became an unrestricted free agent. However, he ultimately re-signed with Pittsburgh.

A former All-State defensive end for Hoover in 2015, Moon spent six seasons at Florida before joining the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.

Moon spent his rookie season on Baltimore’s practice squad. In 2023, he split time between the active roster and the practice squad, appearing in eight games and making one start.

Moon also appeared in a postseason game for the Ravens before being waived on Jan. 26, 2024. Baltimore made the move to open a roster spot for tight end Mark Andrews, who returned from injured reserve just in time for the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

After missing the first four weeks of the 2024 season on injured reserve with an ankle injury, Moon saw action in 111 defensive snaps and 222 special-teams plays. He also took the field in the Steelers’ 28-14 loss to Baltimore in the first round of the AFC playoffs.
