The New York Yankees signed veteran right-hander Adam Ottavino and added him to the active roster on Tuesday.
The financial details of the deal with the 39-year-old New York City native were not revealed.
Ottavino, who previously pitched for the Yankees from 2019 to 2020, spent the last three seasons with the crosstown Mets.
Ottavino signed a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox on Feb. 18 but opted out on March 23.
Last season, he went 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA and one save over 60 relief appearances for the Mets.
Over his career, Ottavino has compiled a 41-43 record with a 3.49 ERA and 46 saves across 724 games (including three starts) with the Cardinals (2010), Rockies (2012-18), Yankees, Red Sox (2021), and Mets.
To make room for Ottavino, the Yankees moved right-hander JT Brubaker (left rib fractures) to the 60-day injured list and placed right-hander Devin Williams on the paternity list.
