DENVER (AP) – The Denver Broncos have signed former University of Texas and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger, adding him to their QB room on Wednesday.
Ehlinger takes over the third-quarterback spot previously held by Zach Wilson, who signed with Miami earlier in free agency. He will sit behind second-year starter Bo Nix and seventh-year backup Jarrett Stidham on the depth chart.

A sixth-round pick by the Colts in 2021, Ehlinger has appeared in eight NFL games, making three starts. Over his career, he has completed 64 of 101 passes for 573 yards, with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
