Throughout the NFL offseason, the Chicago Bears have been notably aggressive. Ryan Poles and his team are clearly focused on building a legitimate contender around their young franchise quarterback, Caleb Williams.
The Bears have made significant moves this offseason, acquiring offensive linemen Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney through trades. They also added center Drew Dalman, defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, and several other smaller pieces in free agency.
Although the free agency market has slowed, Chicago could still be considering making another impactful move to strengthen their roster.
A few quality free agents remain on the market, and the Bears have now been linked as a potential suitor for one of them.
Chicago could still use another piece at the running back position, and there is an intriguing player still looking for a new team.
Kyle Soppe of Pro Football Network has mentioned the Bears as a potential suitor for free agent running back J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins is coming off a strong 2024 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he rushed 195 times for 905 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Additionally, he caught 32 passes for 153 yards.
At 26 years old, Dobbins could be a worthwhile investment for the Bears to take a chance on.
To bring the former Ohio State star running back onboard, it’s projected by Spotrac that J.K. Dobbins could earn around $4.1 million per year on his next contract.
In addition to Chicago, the Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns have also been listed as potential fits for J.K. Dobbins.
