The New York Mets have added an experienced infielder to their minor league system this season.
Mets Sign Jon Singleton to Minor League Deal
According to Metsmerized Online’s Mathias Altman-Kurosaki, the Mets signed Jon Singleton to a minor league contract on Wednesday, assigning him to their Triple-A roster.

Singleton is a four-year MLB veteran. The 33-year-old debuted with the Houston Astros in 2014 but was sent to the minors after his second season.
Between 2016 and 2023, he played in Double-A, Triple-A, and the Mexican League before making his return to the Majors with the Milwaukee Brewers and Astros in 2023.
Singleton will bring run-scoring prowess to the Mets
Last season, the California native appeared in a career-high 119 games for Houston, recording a .234/.321/.386 slash line with a .707 OPS. He added 13 home runs and 42 RBIs.
As a left-handed power hitter, Singleton could provide a boost to the Mets’ offense if he earns a call-up in 2025. In the meantime, he’ll have plenty of opportunities with Triple-A Syracuse to prove himself and strengthen his case for a return to the big leagues.
