The New Orleans Pelicans have added a 7-foot center to their roster by signing Kylor Kelley to a 10-day contract, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
Kelley, 27, has appeared in eight NBA games, all of which came this season after he signed a 2-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks in late January. He started one game for the Mavericks, averaging 3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
In addition to his time with the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ G League affiliate, Kelley also played for the South Bay Lakers, the G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kelley was named to the G League All-Defensive Team for the 2023-24 season after leading the league in blocks. He played college basketball at Oregon State and went undrafted in 2020, primarily spending his career in the G League.
The Pelicans had an open roster spot after receiving an injury exception.
With six games left on their schedule, the Pelicans will face the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on Friday night. This matchup is one of the final opportunities for the Pelicans to make an impact as they wrap up their regular season.
