Cooper Flagg’s Duke Blue Devils Career is Over

The Duke Blue Devils’ season came to a heartbreaking end on Saturday night in the Final Four, as they fell to the Houston Cougars in a late-game collapse. This loss also marks the conclusion of Cooper Flagg’s collegiate career. The highly anticipated one-and-done prospect is set to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, scheduled for June. Flagg will now turn his attention to his next phase—becoming the face of an NBA franchise.

While the team securing the top pick won’t be decided for a few more weeks, there’s little doubt that Flagg will be the first selection. He wrapped up his college career with a stellar 27-point performance in the Final Four, mere hours after being named the 2025 Wooden Award Winner, which honors the best college player in the nation.

At just 18 years old, Flagg had one of the most impressive college seasons in recent memory, having played much of the season at 17 as a freshman who reclassified. Technically, he should still be a senior in high school. Instead, he led Duke to the Final Four and now looks ahead to taking an NBA team to new heights. Though Duke consistently attracts elite recruits, Flagg stands out as one of the program’s greatest players, despite spending just one season with the Blue Devils.
