Forward Elijah Strong has committed to the South Carolina men’s basketball team after a visit this weekend. Strong is the fifth transfer from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
South Carolina’s men’s basketball team has gained another important addition to its lineup. Forward Elijah Strong has officially committed to the Gamecocks. As reported by John Whittle of 247Sports, Strong made his announcement on Sunday morning following his official visit to the university over the weekend. He becomes the fifth transfer to join the Gamecocks this offseason.
Strong, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward, averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game last season at Boston College. After spending two seasons with the Eagles, he still has two years of eligibility remaining.
He joins South Carolina’s frontcourt alongside Providence transfer Christ Essandoko. Head coach Lamont Paris and his staff have also landed commitments from three guards and wings, helping to shape a well-rounded and promising transfer class heading into the upcoming season.
