The Buffalo Bills have bolstered their secondary by bringing back a familiar face, cornerback Dane Jackson, on a one-year deal, as announced by the team on Monday.
Jackson, now 28 years old, returns to Buffalo after originally being selected by the team in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the first four years of his professional career with the Bills.
Over the course of his initial tenure in Buffalo, Jackson appeared in 52 games and was a starter in 28 of them. During that stretch, he accumulated 152 total tackles, forced two fumbles, and picked off three passes.

After the 2023 season, Jackson departed the Bills and signed with the Carolina Panthers for the 2024 campaign. While in Carolina, he saw action in nine games and earned three starts.
While with the Panthers, Jackson contributed 23 tackles and broke up two passes, providing veteran depth to their defensive backfield.
Before entering the NFL, Jackson played his college ball at the University of Pittsburgh, where he developed into an NFL-caliber cornerback. He hails from Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
The Bills’ decision to re-sign Jackson gives them a proven option in their cornerback rotation, especially with his knowledge of their defensive system and prior contributions to the team.
Back in familiar territory, Jackson will don jersey No. 23 for his second stint in Buffalo, aiming to make an impact on a defense looking to contend in the upcoming season.
