Veteran wide receiver Robert Woods has agreed to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per an NFL Network report released Monday evening.
Woods, 33, is gearing up for his 13th NFL season. During his peak years with the Los Angeles Rams, he recorded three seasons with at least 86 receptions and surpassed 1,000 receiving yards twice. He also earned a Super Bowl title with the 2021 Rams team.
This is the third straight offseason in which the Steelers have added a veteran receiver with Rams ties, following the signings of Allen Robinson in 2023 and Van Jefferson last year. All three bring strong leadership qualities to the locker room.
Robert Woods spent the last two seasons with the Houston Texans and was with the Tennessee Titans in 2022. His 2024 campaign marked a significant dip in production, setting career lows in receptions (20), targets (30), receiving yards (203), touchdowns (0), and starts (4) across 15 games.
After consistently playing more than 70% of his teams’ offensive snaps throughout his career, Woods saw just 37% of the snaps in Houston last season.
He now joins a Steelers wide receiver room led by George Pickens and newly acquired DK Metcalf. Calvin Austin III returns as the likely WR3, with Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek offering depth.
Pittsburgh opted not to draft a wide receiver this year — an unusual move for the team — but did bring in two undrafted free agents: Roc Taylor and KeShawn Williams.
