The Runnin’ Utes received a boost on Wednesday with the addition of Ezra Ausar, a transfer forward from ECU. Ausar, a coveted four-star prospect, had interest from several other schools including NC State and Steton Hall.
His commitment marks the fifth transfer acquisition for Utah’s 2024-25 college basketball season, leaving four roster spots to be filled.
Ausar shared his commitment on social media, posting a photo with head coach Craig Smith in Salt Lake City along with a message of support.
Standing at 6’8″ and 247 lbs, Ausar brings size and athleticism to the Runnin’ Utes. In his freshman season (2022-23), he appeared in 32 games, averaging 20 minutes, 10 points, and 5.3 rebounds. This past season, his sophomore year, he improved, averaging 25 minutes, 11.4 points, and 4.7 rebounds.
His field goal percentage also saw improvement, rising from 51% to 56% between his freshman and sophomore years.
With two years of eligibility remaining and a redshirt year available, Ausar joins Utah’s efforts to strengthen their roster for the challenging Big 12 basketball schedule. He’ll be alongside other transfers like Keanu Dawes, Mason Madsen, Zach Keller, and Miro Little.
