The Kansas State football program has secured another defensive talent for its 2025 recruitment lineup. Dalton Knapp, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound edge rusher hailing from Grapevine, Texas, revealed his commitment to join the Wildcats via social media on Thursday. Knapp, labeled as a three-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals, opted for K-State over competing Big 12 contenders such as KU, Houston, and Utah.
Despite receiving scholarship offers from numerous other institutions including Arkansas State, Boise State, Oregon State, and Washington State, Knapp swiftly made his decision in favor of K-State. Following a recent visit to Manhattan for a recruiting trip, he promptly pledged to coach Chris Klieman and the Wildcats. Although he had previously arranged visits to Kansas and Boise State later in the month, Knapp is now firmly committed to K-State.
The Wildcats have been enjoying a successful recruiting period, evidenced by Knapp becoming the fourth player to commit to K-State within the past week. This brings the total number of high school recruits for the 2025 class to six, with expectations of further additions in the near future.
Presently, Knapp joins a talented cohort featuring St. Louis quarterback Dillon Duff, Coppell (Texas) linebacker Weston Polk, Jefferson City offensive lineman Will Kemna, Derby defensive back Martel Jackson, and IMG Academy wide receiver Adonis Moise.
