Fresh off a successful three-year stint at UCLA, including a National Championship win in 2022, Faith Nguyen, formerly a goalkeeper for UCLA, has transferred to Texas Tech in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season.
Originally from Costa Mesa, California, Nguyen appeared in four games during her time at UCLA, accumulating nearly 50 minutes of playing time. She made her debut for UCLA and subsequently played in three matches in 2023, contributing to victories against CSUN, Utah, and Oregon State. Notably, Nguyen played a career-high 26 minutes in a decisive 6-0 win over Oregon State.
Prior to her collegiate career, Nguyen showcased her talent with the SoCal Blues, leading them to an impressive 29-match unbeaten streak in the Developmental Academy. Her skills also earned her recognition with the US Youth National Team Under-19 squad in the spring of 2021.
Texas Tech’s soccer season for 2024 begins with an exhibition match against Denver on August 8, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT).
